Low-level laser therapy for hair growth in men and women
Clinical research exploring visible red light and laser sources in androgenetic alopecia.
View studyA clearer look at the clinical evidence, published studies, and red light laser technology behind HairMax devices for men and women experiencing hair thinning.
Hair growth evidence
HairMax has invested in clinical studies on light energy for hair growth across HairMax laser devices. These studies included 460 men and women and were conducted at leading medical research centres including the Cleveland Clinic, the University of Miami, and the University of Minnesota.

Low-level laser therapy uses therapeutic red light to help energise hair follicles and support thicker, healthier-looking hair over time. The result is a non-invasive routine that fits at home, without asking customers to start with medication.
Subjects were instructed to use the laser device three times per week on non-consecutive days. Hair density measurements were taken throughout the study period to assess terminal hair count changes from baseline.
Mean terminal hair count changes from baseline in males over 26 weeks.
Mean terminal hair count changes from baseline in females over 26 weeks.
Qualified subjects had global images recorded at each visit using a stereotactic device, with target areas prepared for hair density evaluation and blinded review.
